At 54, I’d say I’m fitter now than when I was 18. This has come from my love of nature and the long walks I find myself doing most mornings, as it really is the best time of the day.

I’ve been passionate about antiques / art and music from a very early age and was given the opportunity to have my own antique shop a short while ago here in Leigh-on-Sea. After 20 years as a salesman I’ve gained remarkable people skills. I’m the type to always have a cheeky smile on my face and I genuinely enjoy the chance to get to know someone new. That probably explains why I had so many repeat customers.

If I’m in London I’ll be in some gallery, maybe two in a day. Last time I visited I was lucky enough to be invited to meet Sir Paul Smith at his AW24 (Autumn Winter 24) preview, which was fantastic.

As you may have gathered, fashion is also a passion of mine, in fact both my wardrobes are at bursting point. I’m considered a bit of a Peacock in my hometown but I can tone it down if required.

Speaking of home, I live in Essex, but I’m more than happy to travel anywhere in the country so long as I have a decent period of notice and all expenses are paid.

I’ve visited Italy on many occasions, taking in the renaissance beauty. Also Sicily – Taormina to be precise – which I must say was absolutely stunning.

I would say I come from good stock. My mother grew up in Kensal Rise. My grandma was in fact a milliner to the Queen’s mother so she would have known Edward VI and the King’s Grandmama very well. In actual fact I recently sent a letter to the King wishing him well and told him about the connection and was thrilled to receive a card expressing his appreciation. This now has pride of place in my antiques shop.
